Alan DuBois is the Federal Public Defender for the Eastern District of North Carolina and has held that position since 2018. He serves on various committees within the Federal Defender Program, including the Sentencing Guidelines Committee, the Defender Services Advisory Group, the Strategic Resources Advisory Board, and the Supreme Court Assistance Project. Mr. DuBois is a Senior Lecturing Fellow at the Duke University School of Law and co-taught the Appellate Advocacy Clinic. He also served a detail as Visiting Defender at the United States Sentencing Commission. Mr. DuBois received his undergraduate degree from Duke University and law degree from the University of Virginia.
