Christopher Jacobs’ life is a testament of obstacles, tragedy, and redemption. Raised in rural North Carolina, he experienced a tumultuous childhood, a childhood that can be traced through an orphanage, group homes, foster homes, and even prisons. In 1995, at the age of 16, Jacobs began serving a life sentence for robbery and homicide. For many incarcerated people, prison is a place of discovery. It was within the confines of prison that Jacobs discovered himself and his purpose in life. In 2025, after 30 years of incarceration, Jacobs was favorably paroled and allowed to return to society. A state-certified Peer Support Specialist, he has applied himself to meeting others in crisis and using his life experience to help them navigate their own trauma.
