Board Member Kimberly Candelmo

Board member Kimberly Candelmo works as a dedicated educator and youth advocate with more than two decades of experience designing impactful learning experiences and supporting underserved communities. She earned an M.Ed. in Training and Development from North Carolina State University, graduating with a 4.0 GPA. She builds a strong foundation in instructional design theory and applies it to equip educators with effective strategies that help every learner succeed.

Throughout her career, Kim has taken on instructional leadership roles that include facilitating school-wide technology training, developing standards-based curriculum, and serving on professional development committees focused on teacher retention and growth. She brings empathy, adaptability, and a results-driven approach to every learning experience. Moreover, she commits herself to improving outcomes for both educators and students through practical, sustained support.

Her work with at-risk youth remains a consistent focus throughout her career. She mentors struggling students both inside and outside the classroom. In addition, she served on the Education Committee at Corral Riding Academy, where she collaborated with subject matter experts to design targeted support strategies for vulnerable young women. Kim created learning environments where every student felt supported, especially those who needed it most.
